Merely weeks after restructuring Artemis, NASA unveiled further modifications to its astronaut lunar return initiative. Most strikingly, the agency is terminating the lunar Gateway initiative that would have established the inaugural circumlunar station. This multinational endeavor was designed to facilitate both lunar surface expeditions and deep space voyages. However, its fate became evident when the previous administration's budget proposal last spring targeted Gateway for elimination.
